CentrExpert, your industrial partner

Modification of industrial machinery and equipment for ATEX zones

We ensure the safety and compliance of your equipment in ATEX explosive atmospheres. As certified specialists since 2011, we retrofit, modify, and certify your existing or new machinery. This applies to material handling trucks, generators, and specialized equipment, among other types.

Our ATEX Services

The ATEX universe demands total rigor and great versatility. Thus, our status as a European specialist and our accreditations allow us to cover all your needs. We provide services from risk analysis to the final certification of your equipment.

ATEX Transformation

Our core business is the complete modification of your equipment to bring it into compliance with ATEX safety requirements (Directive 2014/34/EU).
We therefore conduct a comprehensive risk analysis (sources of sparks, hot spots) to accurately assess the necessary protective measures.
Next, we apply the necessary modifications using two approaches:

  • Passive conversion: we apply standardized protection methods. ;
  • Active conversion: We are adding additional protective measures. This transformation includes, in particular, our patented wireless standalone gas detection system.

Custom creation

CentrExpert doesn’t limit itself to standard equipment. Drawing on our expertise in Research and Development, we design and build custom ATEX solutions. Whether for a one-time need or a complex prototype, we take on even the most ambitious technical challenges. This makes us your preferred partner for projects that require unique, turnkey solutions.

Machinery and Equipment

We work with a wide range of industrial and power equipment that, due to their low production volumes, requires customized manufacturing expertise:

  • Material-handling carts; ;
  • High-power generator sets and engine-driven pump sets (up to 1,200 KW); ;
  • Cranes, industrial compressors, floor scrubbers; ;
  • Specialized equipment: very high-pressure pumps (3,000 bars), ATEX-certified housings for cameras, and lighting systems.

Audit and Training

The operational safety of an ATEX machine lies in the quality of its maintenance. To ensure your operation is safe and sustainable, we offer comprehensive support services:

  • ISM-ATEX-certified auditor by INERIS. Regular audits of your machinery and equipment to ensure their ongoing compliance and prevent any risks; ;
  • QUALIOPI-certified training organization. Regular training for your maintenance technicians to work in ATEX zones.

Our Expertise

in ATEX zones

Founded in late 2011 by Jean-Marie Constant and Thierry Maurice, with over 10 years of experience, CentrExpert has quickly established itself as a technical benchmark in the European market. This is thanks in particular to the European Patent for our autonomous, wireless, and self-calibrating gas detection system, controlled by a touchscreen tablet.
Also, because we are an ATEX-certified supplier listed and preferred by a major manufacturer in the material handling industry.
For our strength in research and development and our financial stability, which serve as a guarantee of reliability for all our partners and manufacturers.

What is an ATEX zone?

The term ATEX is an acronym for “ATmosphères EXplosives.” It refers to locations where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, or dust.
The ATEX framework is based on two European Directives: Directive 2014/34/EU (concerning products) and Directive 1999/92/EC (concerning worker protection). All equipment used in these areas must be certified for safe use.

CentrExpert is able to modify and certify a very wide range of machines and equipment:

Any mobile or stationary machine that is not mass-produced by its manufacturer and requires specialized technical service falls within our scope of expertise. This includes forklifts, generators, compressors, as well as specialized equipment (high-voltage pumps, cameras) that do not come with an ATEX-certified version from the manufacturer.

We do not perform routine industrial maintenance, but we position ourselves as experts to ensure long-term safety:

  1. Training. We train your technicians (QUALIOPI certified organization) on the specifics of ATEX machine maintenance; ;
  2. Audit. We.
